Terms of Use

1. About Pimio

Pimio is a personal journaling app that helps you capture daily entries, revisit past moments through Echo, and organize your life story into Memoir chapters over time. Pimio is intended for private, individual use.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Pimio. By using the app, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. Pimio is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly permit use by minors.

3. Your account

You may sign in with Apple or create an account with email. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account on your device.

You agree to provide accurate profile information and to update it when needed. You may sign out or delete your account from the Me tab. Account deletion removes your profile and journal data stored on that device as described in the app.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use Pimio only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not:

• Use the app in any way that violates applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or extract source code from the app except as permitted by law
• Use automated tools to access the app without authorization
• Misrepresent your identity or age
• Use Pimio to store or distribute unlawful, harmful, or infringing content

5. Your content

You retain ownership of journal entries, photos, reflections, and other content you create in Pimio ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely within the app on your device for the purpose of providing Pimio features.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the rights needed to add photos, text, and other materials to your journal.

6. App features and changes

Pimio may include features such as daily writing, mood tracking, Echo memory revisits, Memoir chapters and milestones, streaks, mood insights, reminders, and optional in-app purchases or subscriptions offered through your device’s app store.

We may add, modify, suspend, or remove features over time. We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature indefinitely.

7. In-app purchases and subscriptions

Some optional features may be available through in-app purchases or auto-renewable subscriptions processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Purchases are subject to the applicable store’s terms and billing policies.

You authorize the relevant store to charge your payment method for purchases you confirm. Subscription renewals, cancellations, and refund requests are handled according to the store’s rules. You can manage subscriptions through your device or store account settings.

Restore Purchases may be available in Pimio to recover eligible purchases already tied to your store account, subject to store policies.

8. Local storage and data

Journal data and settings are stored primarily on your device. You are responsible for maintaining backups of your device if you want to preserve your data outside Pimio. Uninstalling the app or losing access to your device may result in loss of locally stored data.

9. Not medical or professional advice

Pimio is for personal reflection and journaling only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or other professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Do not rely on Pimio in an emergency. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

10. Intellectual property

Pimio, including its design, branding, software, and documentation (excluding Your Content), is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights in Pimio.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Pimio is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Pimio, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of Pimio, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms, except to the extent prohibited by law.

14. Termination

You may stop using Pimio at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe continued use would harm Pimio, other users, or third parties.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law in the jurisdiction where Pimio is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence may still apply where required by law.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Pimio evolves. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
