Pimio is a gentle daily journal for writing today and revisiting meaningful moments from your past. This Privacy Policy describes how Pimio handles information when you use the mobile application on your device.
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to individuals who download, install, or use Pimio. Pimio is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Summary
Pimio is designed for personal, private journaling. Your entries, photos, reflections, memoir chapters, and preferences are stored primarily on your device. Pimio does not sell your personal information to third parties.
Information we handle
Depending on how you use Pimio, the app may handle the following information:
- Journal entries, including mood level, title, note text, date, timestamps, and optional photos
- Echo favorites, reflections, and revisit activity related to your past entries
- Memoir chapters, milestones, and how you organize your journal items
- Profile information you provide, such as display name, email address, birth date or age, and optional avatar image
- App preferences, including reminder settings and appearance choices
- Writing streaks, mood statistics, and other in-app activity derived from your journal data
- Account credentials when you sign in with Apple or create an email-based account
- Subscription and in-app purchase status processed through Apple App Store or Google Play, as applicable to your device
How we use information
Information is used solely to operate Pimio and provide its features, including:
- Creating, editing, storing, and displaying your journal entries
- Surfacing past entries in Echo for personal revisiting
- Organizing content into Memoir chapters and milestones
- Calculating streaks, mood insights, and related statistics from your own data
- Maintaining your account and preferences on your device
- Delivering optional reminders you enable in Settings
- Processing optional in-app purchases through your device’s app store account
Echo suggestions and mood insights are generated from your own journal data on your device. Pimio does not use your journal content to build public profiles or social feeds.
Where information is stored
Journal data, photos you attach, memoir content, and app settings are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage supported by your operating system. Pimio is offline-first and does not require a continuous connection to a Pimio-operated cloud server to keep your journal.
If you sign out or delete your account through the app, associated profile and journal data stored on that device can be removed as described in the app.
Device permissions
Pimio may request access to your photo library or camera only when you choose to attach a photo to a journal entry. Photos you add are saved as part of your journal on your device.
If you enable daily reminders, Pimio may request permission to send local notifications according to your device settings.
Sign in with Apple and email accounts
If you sign in with Apple, Apple may provide Pimio with information you authorize, such as your name and email address, according to Apple’s policies and your choices during sign-in.
If you create an account with email, Pimio stores the credentials and profile details needed to identify your account on your device.
Third-party services
Pimio may rely on platform services provided by Apple or Google, including app distribution, account sign-in, and in-app purchase processing. Those services handle information according to their own privacy policies.
Pimio does not include public community features, forums, or social networking within the app.
In-app purchases and subscriptions
Pimio offers optional paid features through in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions processed by the app store on your device (such as the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android). Pimio does not collect or store your payment card number, billing address, or other full payment credentials. Payment processing is handled by the applicable store according to its own privacy policy and terms.
When you make a purchase, the store may share with Pimio limited purchase-related information needed to deliver the feature, such as:
- Product identifier and purchase or subscription status
- Transaction or receipt validation data used to confirm eligibility
- Subscription period, renewal status, and expiration date, where applicable
Pimio may store purchase outcomes locally on your device, including coin balance, VIP membership status, unlocked feature access, and related app settings tied to your account on that device.
Coin packs. Pimio may offer optional coin packs that can be used within the app for features such as additional daily journal entries, Echo unlocks, Memoir chapter access, and similar optional enhancements. Coins are a limited, revocable in-app license with no real-world cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money or refunds except where required by applicable store policies or law.
VIP subscriptions. Pimio may offer optional auto-renewable VIP plans (such as weekly, monthly, or quarterly options shown in the app). Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period through your device or store account settings. Removing Pimio from your device does not cancel an active subscription.
Billing, cancellation, and refunds. Prices, taxes, billing cycles, renewals, cancellations, and refund requests are governed by the applicable store’s terms and policies. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact the store’s support channels. Pimio cannot issue store refunds directly.
Restore Purchases. If available in the app, Restore Purchases lets you recover eligible prior purchases already associated with your store account on the same platform, subject to store rules and receipt validation.
Purchase-related information is used only to provide, validate, restore, and support the features you bought, prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with applicable legal and store requirements.
Data retention
Your journal and related data remain on your device until you edit or delete them, sign out, or delete your account through Pimio. Uninstalling the app may remove local data depending on your device and operating system behavior.
Your choices
You can edit your profile from the Me tab, adjust preferences in Settings, manage reminders, sign out, or delete your account from the side menu. Deleting your account removes your profile and journal data stored on that device and cannot be undone from within the app after confirmation.
Security
We design Pimio to keep personal journaling data on your device. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for securing access to your device.
International users
Pimio may be used in different countries. By using the app, you understand that information handled on your device is subject to the laws of the location where you use the app and where your device is located.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Pimio evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of Pimio after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
